Welcome to Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership

Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) acts on behalf of the three Safeguarding Partners, Newcastle City Council, Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group and Northumbria Police, and brings together partner agencies across the city to ensure there is a joined-up approach to safeguarding.

Safeguarding means protecting a child’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. It is about working together to support children and young people to make decisions about the risks they face in their own lives and protecting those who lack the capacity to make these decisions.

Newcastle partners are committed to improving positive outcomes for all children and are proactive in driving forward improvements to reduce the risk of abuse and neglect. Our ambition is to provide help and support to children, young people and families at the earliest opportunity to ensure that low level emerging need is identified and responded to in a timely way.
